Northern Hills
Synagogue and Congregation Ohav Shalom have combined to form a new joint
religious school, the Kehilla School for Creative Jewish Education. "Kehilla"
means community in Hebrew.
The Kehilla
School currently serves about 50 children, pre-K through Grade 7. Classes
are Sunday morning and Wednesday afternoons. The school will alternate
locations. For the second semester, in
late January, students will learn
at Ohav Shalom (8100 Cornell Road) on Sundays and at Northern Hills
Synagogue (5714 Fields Ertel Road) on Wednesdays.
The school is
also open to families that are unaffiliated with a synagogue. Students
learn about the Torah, holidays, Israel, life-cycle events, history,
prayers and Hebrew.
